Allison Cara Tolman has been an actor for more than twenty years. She has been nominated the Golden Globes and Emmy Awards for her performance in Fargo: Season 1, in the role of Molly Solverson. Education and early life Tolman has two older brothers as well as a younger sister. Early in her life, Tolman's family moved to England. They remained there until she reached age four. After a period of five years in Oklahoma, she relocated back to Sugar Land. As a ten-year-old, she started acting at Fort Bend Community Theatre. Clements High School graduated her in the year 2000. Tolman received praise for her performance as Minnesota police officer Molly Solverson, with Vanity Fair writing the following "calmly and assuredly stole the entire performance". For her role, she was awarded the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Film/Miniseries, and received Best Actress nominations at the Emmy Awards and for the Golden Globes. In the same year it was announced that Tolman is scheduled to make a guest role on the Mindy Project in the role of Abby Berman who is a romance author. As of 2015, Tolman had the role of a support in Michael Dougherty's comedy horror film Krampus. Tolman, who had an iconic performance in Fargo and Fargo, opted out of the roles of mothers, wives and close friends to focus on the role she thought was distinctive. Tolman was a part of the ABC drama series Downward Dog in 2017, inspired by Animal Media Group's online series. The show was cancelled after one season.
